A horrified East Kilbride mum is warning parents to be aware after her children witnessed an unsavoury incident at a local beauty spot.
The Westwood woman, who did not wish to be named, told the News her 15-year-old son spotted two male pensioners involved in a sex act in the bird hide at Cathkin Marsh.
Shockingly, the recent incident at the ‘dogging’ hotspot reportedly took place in the middle of the afternoon.
The local woman told the News she was enjoying a nature walk with her son, her 17-year-old daughter and their two spaniels at the time.
She said: “We went to look for frogs. My son ran on ahead and as he got closer to the bird hide he ran back and said ‘mum don’t go any further’.
“But the dog ran towards the bird hide so I went after him and saw two old men sitting naked on the benches.
“At first I thought they might have been sunbathing, but my son told one of the men had been doing something to the other man.”
She added that she was both frightened and disgusted when one of the men motioned towards her and she ran back to her car.
“I could see them quickly getting dressed to catch up with me”, she said.
“I was scared so I started to drive off but then I felt angry so I went back and got one of their number plates and reported it to the police who told me this type of thing happens here.
“This was a very embarrassing incident for my son and a horrible thing to see, especially in broad daylight.
